Pilaf is just a fancy way to say not-boring rice, and this recipe delivers on its name. We’ve blended jasmine rice with orzo pasta to add some grainy interest, then built up a wall of flavor with onions, garlic, butter, and herbs. Paprika gives every bite a little smoky sweetness. Serve it next to roasted chicken for a perfect pairing. Recipe by @PlatesByKody
Ingredients:
1/3 cup BRIANNAS Roasted Garlic and Herb Marinade
1 cup jasmine rice
1/2 cup orzo pasta
4 garlic cloves, diced
1/3 cup onion, diced
1/2 stick butter
1/4 cup parsley, chopped
1 1/2 cup chicken or veg broth
1/2 teaspoon of the following: paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Dice your onion, garlic, and parsley, and set aside.
Grab a medium sized skillet or pan with a lid. Melt your butter on medium heat.
Once butter is bubbling, sauté your onion and garlic until caramelized.
Add your rice and orzo, and toast until golden.
Turn down heat to medium low and add one cup of broth. Stir, and keep adding broth slowly until it covers the rice. Add in parsley and BRIANNAS Roasted Garlic and Herb marinade, and season to taste. Stir well.
Put a lid on your pot and cook for 20-30 minutes. Stir occasionally, and taste as you go. If the rice is still crunchy, add a little more broth, stir, cover, and simmer for a little longer. When rice is tender and fluffy, you’re all done.
